{"id":1359,"date":"2010-09-13T13:51:51","date_gmt":"2010-09-13T12:51:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/?p=1359"},"modified":"2010-09-17T14:09:50","modified_gmt":"2010-09-17T13:09:50","slug":"the-x-factor-tom-richards-under-pressure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/1359\/the-x-factor-tom-richards-under-pressure\/","title":{"rendered":"The X Factor: Tom Richards Under Pressure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tom Richard found himself under enormous pressure at the X Factor auditions in Cardiff following his performance of The Script \u2018man Who Can\u2019t Be Moved\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Tom Richards\" src=\"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/images\/uk\/x2010\/tom02.JPG\" alt=\"Tom Richards\" width=\"581\" height=\"302\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The 16 year old, from Pontypridd in South Wales, auditioned for judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Pixie Lott. Following his performance the panel weren\u2019t convinced, they thought it was very dated. He went on to sing \u2018This Is The Moment\u2019 from stage musical Jekyll and Hyde, which irritated Simon Cowell even more.<\/p>\n<p>After claiming that Tom wasn\u2019t current enough, Simon criticised his second song\u00a0 choice saying:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDid you listen to what I just said to you? What did I just say to you? I\u2019m now relying on you to tell me what people of your age want to buy from you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think you could have chosen a worse song. You\u2019re not what I\u2019d be looking for as a popstar, so it\u2019s a no.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cheryl liked Tom and said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re trying to show us what you can do vocally and stuff but what we\u2019re looking for is someone who comes in and says, look this is who I want to be, this is where I want to go and you sang two completely different song. Despite all that, I\u2019m going to say yes\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Louis was impressed by Tom and said yes to him. However, he was not at all impressed with Pixie Lott when she also said no, sending Tom home.<\/p>\n<p>Aided by the audience, Louis then pressured Pixie Lott to change her mind. He started ranting:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have to say yes!!!
