{"id":12401,"date":"2014-01-20T21:44:07","date_gmt":"2014-01-20T20:44:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/?p=12401"},"modified":"2014-01-20T21:49:45","modified_gmt":"2014-01-20T20:49:45","slug":"tosset-cake-feast-event-at-parrox-hall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/12401\/tosset-cake-feast-event-at-parrox-hall\/","title":{"rendered":"Tosset Cake Feast Event at Parrox Hall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the summer of 2013, Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty visited Lord Elletson at Parrox Hall to revive an age old recipe for the <a href=\"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/12353\/\">tosset cake<\/a>, an age old Lancashire biscuit that was at the heart of the tosset cake feast event.<\/p>\n<p>The event took place each year for hundreds of years up until the First World War when the production of the biscuits stopped. Jamie and Jimmy not only help revived the recipe for their Jamie and Jimmy\u2019s Friday Night\u2019s Feast Channel 4 show, but they help Lord Elletson \u00a0bring back the annual tosset feast that was attended by hundreds of people at the Hall.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/tosset6.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12402\" title=\"Jamie Oliver on his back at the tosset cake air\" src=\"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/tosset6.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"334\" srcset=\"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/tosset6.png 590w, http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/tosset6-300x169.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 590px) 100vw, 590px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Many of the locals backed their tosset cakes and entered them into a competition where they are\u00a0judged to see who has baked the best ones, while they enjoy all the activities that were laid on to reflect those that people enjoyed at the hall one hundred years ago.
