Like many local recipes it contains surprisingly exotic ingredients which date from Whitehaven\u2019s involvement in the slave trade, when boats would return from their journeys laden with sugar, rum and spices. <\/p>\n<p>Paul searched the town of Whitehaven to see if he could locate a baker who is currently making cumberland run nicky, but unfortunately the master baker drew a blank.
