Ruby Wax has been making people laugh in the UK since the early eighties. She is one of a handful of American comedians who became famous in the UK before being well known in their home country.
Wax started her career as a serious actress but later moved into comedy mainly as a result of her interviewing technique. She is always forthright, brash and loud, conforming to the British stereotyping of Americans during the eighties and eighties.
Catch Ruby Wax in her Losing It Tour at the Edinburgh festival or at the Duchess theatre in London in August through to the end of September.
