The law, which was established in 1988, was originally intended to apply to messages sent via the post, but the act applies equally to online communications such as emails and messages on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>The source added: \u201cIt is disgusting to be so cruel to a 12-year-old child. The hunt is on for this person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The anonymous blogger \u2013 who claimed to be a disgruntled executive at Sony Music, the owners of Simon Cowell\u2019s Syco company \u2013 suggested that Ronan Parke had been managed by Cowell for almost two years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe welfare of our contestants is paramount. We will not tolerate bullying of any kind,\u201d a spokesperson for the show said last night.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Syco strongly denied the allegations, saying: \u201cThere is no truth in this story whatsoever.<\/p>\n<table>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"pub-0466605792016836\";\n\/* auditions mid page 300x250, created 9\/6\/10 *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"2217652781\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 300;\ngoogle_ad_height = 250;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"\nsrc=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script>\n<\/td>\n<td>\n\u201cRonan first came to Syco\/Sony\u2019s attention when he entered this year\u2019s competition. Syco\/Sony Music will not hesitate to take whatever legal action is appropriate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Roan Parke\u2019s mum has since defended her son by saying \u201cThis allegation is laughable. There is no truth in it what so ever\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Scotland Yard confirmed to <em>The Sun<\/em>: \u201cAn allegation of malicious communications was made to Kensington and Chelsea police.
