Singer Jai McDowall and comic dancer Steven Hall are the latest two acts through to the Britain’s Got Talent 2011 live final.

Jai McDowall went through automatically after topping the public vote following his performance of Evanescence’s ‘Bring Me to Life’. Steven Hall on the other hand had to face the judges vote along with  Edward Reid who also finished in the top 3.

These are the comments given by the judges in deciding between the two acts:

David Hasselhoff: “Steven, you were very entertaining, very funny, there’s a great place for you on this variety on this show… but you weren’t as creative as Edward. Ed, I think you have a fantastic voice and I think you have the potential to breakout and be a good star.”

Michael McIntyre: “There is so much people in the mix, I cannot split these two acts because I think what they do is quite similar and equally entertaining, I don’t know…okay, I love you Edward but imp going to go with Steven.”

Amanda Holden: “First of all I’m stunned Out of the Blue weren’t in this section! This is my worst nightmare because I love you both because it completely appeals to my sense of humour. Edward, Steven, you were both even better than your audition. If I’m going to be honest and go with who I was genuinely entertained with more, I’m going to say Steven.”

This left Simon Cowell with the casting vote, and he said: “I’m going with what I believe the public will want and I’m going to go with Steven.”

Speaking to Ant and Dec after his exit, Edward said: “I still feel good, I still feel like the luckiest person in Britain. It’s been phenomenal.”

Meanwhile finalist Steven told Ant: “I never imagined being saved by Simon in a million years, I’ve certainly been preparing some for the final!”
