At 44 years old, Cameron Henderson entered Australian’s Got Talent with his son with no real expectation of being successful, but they made it all the way to the Grand Final.

 Cameron Henderson

Cameron and his son Taylor both play the guitar and their singing style has a folk/country vibe. They originally entered the competition as a duo, but following their audition where they performed Michael Jackson’s song ‘Man In The Mirror’, the judges thought that their voices did not complement each other and gave them a chance to perform individually singing original songs that the father and son wrote.

Cameron performed a song called ‘Angle Without Wings’ while his son Taylor performed a song he wrote for his little sister. The judges were so impressed they sent them both through to the next round as solo acts.

The lyrics of Cameron Henderson’s song “Angel Without Wings” is a excellent display of his song writing talent, his love for music, and his skilful display of guitar playing. Not bad for someone with no professional music experience.

The three judges, Australia’s favourite ex-pat Irishman Brian McFadden  said: “Cameron is  pleasure to watch, incredible performer, impressive” while Kyle Sandilands, said: “it’s brilliant, heavenly, seasoned performer.” Dannii Minogue said “it’s just beautiful!” Good luck to Cameron!

Cameron’s performance in the grand final earned him a second place finish, while his son Taylor finished in third place, both loosing out to the winner, dance trope Justice Crew.
