Bookies favourite Sam Evans has won Big Brother 2013 after spending 68 days in the house, beating runner-up Dexter Koh to the £100,000 cash prize.
The Welshman, 23, who suffers from hearing loss, bowed his head as his victory was announced to massive cheers.
Evans said he felt “shaken” as he took the title, and promised to give a quarter of his winnings to charity and a quarter to his family. He will invest the rest in his future.
“I just can’t believe it,” he said, insisting the experience was “amazing”.
Koh, who survived seven evictions, said he could not understand why the public kept him in the competition.
“I have no clue,” the 28-year-old from Liverpool said. “I’d really like to know.”
Evans emerged victorious after Charlie Travers became the first to leave the house during tonight’s show, putting her in fifth place.
The 26-year-old, from Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire, said “love you” to her housemates before walking out to huge cheers.
