Big Brother 2013 Live Feed is to be axed from the schedules, a Channel 5 source confirmed today.
The news as come only three weeks after the channel introduced the Live Feeds for the new series promising that it would return on a bigger scale, but now it will be scrapped due to poor ratings.
The Big Brother live feed currently airs daily on 5* from 7pm-9pm Monday through Saturday, and between 8pm and 9pm on a Sunday evening.
The Live Feeds on 5* kicked off with around 60,000 viewers, but has since dropped to around the 35,000 mark.
A spokesperson confirmed: “Big Brother’s live streaming has been removed from the 5* schedule from next week.”
When Channel 5 bought the rights to the show in 2011, it announced that it would not be featuring a 24-hour live feed and would instead focus on social media to engage with viewers. Now it would seem they wish they had stuck to that view.
